Rumpelstiltskin Meme (Tip Toeing in My Jordans): Origin and Story

The video is styled like a 1980s fantasy film. A small, imp-like man in a black velvet tailcoat and long pointed shoes tiptoes into a candle-lit barn, shushes the camera and grins. He dances around a frightened young woman sitting in the straw.

Most meme versions stop at the dance, but the original keeps going: he spins the straw into gold, the woman kisses him, and he turns into a prince.

The video was posted on Instagram on August 27, 2026, by three accounts together: Stroinaya, Neuroferma and Anna Glinskaya. NBC's report credits self-described AI artist and filmmaker Tatyana Tereshchenko, and Know Your Meme lists @stroinaya as her account. We couldn't find an interview in which she talks about the meme.

The song is "Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz" by Riff Raff, released in 2014. The title is a stylized spelling of "tiptoeing in my Jordans", which is what most people call the meme. The original Instagram post didn't use the song; it was added on TikTok a month later, and that pairing is what made the meme.

No. The video was made with AI in 2026; it only looks like an old film. For how it differs from the 1987 Cannon musical, see is the Rumpelstiltskin meme from the 1987 movie?

The most popular remix swaps someone else in as the little man. On TikTok, @ns7films recast him as Sam and Dean from Supernatural, @RoyalSerf on X used a streamer, and other versions used politicians and characters like Wednesday Addams and Ronald McDonald. Others keep the original clip and change only the caption, usually a joke about strange dreams or a bad night out.

On this site you can recast it with yourself or friends. Only upload photos of yourself or of adults who agreed to be in the video. Photos of celebrities, public figures and anyone under 18 aren't allowed.
